Hello

We had a very interesting update on local plans for intentional communities on 25 October, and a grand tour of Laughton Lodge. Many thanks to all involved (links on our news page).

Instead of a meeting this month, some of us are going to a talk on straw bale houses in Hove on 27 November at 12.30pm, repeated at 7pm. Strawbale building is at the cutting edge of low-impact building, and the speaker, Barbara Jones, was Grand Designs featured builder in 2007. More details at the Home Ecovillage website. If you come, please say hello (I shall probably be at the evening session).

Our next meeting is a social on Saturday 6 December. Venue not decided yet, so watch this space (we'll email a notice), or see our news page.

Brighton & Hove City Council are in the last stage of taking feedback on their draft housing strategy for 2008-2013 (consultation ends this month). You can get more detail at www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/. I have a few printed copies of the draft Housing Strategy and Older People's Housing Strategy.
